"I was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC and am a life-long Lutheran. I have an
undergraduate and masters degree from Appalachian State in accounting (1977 / 1980) and
a masters of divinity from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary (2002). Before
seminary, I worked as a CPA (Boone, NC), a college professor (Catawba College, Salisbury,
NC), and a college administrator (University of South Carolina at Beaufort). I served as
pastor of St Stephens in Lenoir (2002 – 2014) and St James in Concord (2014-2022). I
retired from St James on August 31, 2022 and relocated to Happy Valley. My wife Debbie,
and I, have been married for 38 years and are the proud parents of a two-year-old poogle
(beagle/poodle mix) named Frankie. We look forward to sharing in your walk with Christ as
you prayerfully begin the process to discern whom God is preparing to be your next pastor."
